Pregnant woman kills co-worker with butcher knife in restaurant

A pregnant Chinatown woman fatally stabbed her co-worker Tuesday in a midday attack in the kitchen of a quaint Hudson River town restaurant, police said. Rosa Ramirez, 27, who has two open criminal cases against her in Brooklyn, grabbed a butcher knife in the River City Grille in Irvington, Westchester County just before noon and repeatedly plunged it into the chest of Bonifacio Rodriguez, 39, a married father of two from Yonkers, according to law enforcement sources.

Yonkers Man ID’d As Person Fatally Struck By Metro-North Train

Police have identified the Westchester man who was fatally struck by a Metro-North train near the Beacon station late last week. A Metro-North spokesperson identified 38-year-old Yonkers resident Joseph Lanza as the unauthorized man who was struck and killed by a train at approximately 12:24 p.m. on Thursday, April 5 on the tracks just south of the Beacon station.

Sex Offender Makes Move From Elmsford To Yonkers

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 71-year-old Arquimedes Mota, who has moved from Elmsford to an apartment on Bruce Avenue in Yonkers. The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Mota as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a "high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety."

Police Dish Out 45 Tickets In Latest Westchester Speed Enforcement Detail

Nearly 50 tickets were doled out during a special speed enforcement detail conducted by New York State Police troopers on the Sprain Brook Parkway in northern Westchester on Tuesday. During the special detail on Tuesday, April 3, troopers in Greenburgh, Mount Pleasant and Yonkers dished out 45 tickets, including 31 that cited motorists for speeding.
