Sentencing Delayed For BMW Driver In Crash That Killed Westchester Teen

The driver of a BMW that crashed on Central Avenue last year and killed 19-year-old Nina Cordero in Yonkers and injured her boyfriend saw his sentencing adjourned for more than a month in court on Tuesday. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced on Tuesday that Yonkers resident Renzo Yance, 22, who pleaded guilty to a felony count of manslaughter last month had his sentencing adjourned to July 10 for his role in the Aug. 26 fatal crash last year.

Westchester Man Pleads Guilty To Murdering Wife

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced on Tuesday that Joseph Abraham, Sr. has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection to the murder of his 25-year-old wife, Amanda Trenck in their Van Cortlandt Avenue apartments in Yonkers last May. Shortly before 9:15 a.m. on May 21, officers from the Yonkers Police Department were dispatched to the apartment, where there was a reported attempted suicide with multiple victims potentially at the scene. Upon arrival, police officers said that they found Trenck in her bedroom slumped over the bed with multiple stab wounds and a large pool of blood around her.

‘Sexually Violent’ Offender Makes Move In Yonkers

A registered "sexually violent" offender convicted of forcibly touching his victim without consent and a previous rape conviction has reported a move in Westchester County. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 57-year-old Jack Williams, who has moved from Valhalla to an apartment on Livingston Avenue in Yonkers.

Officials in Yonkers have become the latest to call on the United States Postal Service to address the recent spate of mailbox fishing and theft incidents throughout the Hudson Valley. Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and Police Commissioner Charles Gardner gathered this week on South Broadway to call on the USPS, citing more than 80 reported incidents of theft in the city and nearly $700,000 that were withdrawn from bank accounts belonging to Yonkers residents this year alone.

Suspect in Columbus ATM skimming arrested

The man was found when a witness reported seeing a man at an ATM in the 3500 block of West Jonathan Moore Pike shortly before 7 a.m. He was at the ATM for an extended period of time, so they called police.
