A 56-year-old Yonkers man collected $150,000 in taxpayer-funded Superstorm Sandy relief by claiming his damaged Jersey Shore home as his primary residence, state authorities charged. Level 3 Sex Offender Caught With Child Porn Again, Westchester DA Says

A registered Level 3 sex offender convicted of possessing child pornography and posing online as an underage female, is facing new charges after being busted with more obscene materials involving minors and failing to register email addresses. Yonkers resident Jorge Delmoral, 32, is facing a series of new charges after he allegedly failed to register a pair of email addresses with the State of New York, which is required by the Sex Offender Registry Act following his previous conviction in 2014, which led to an investigation.

Police find man dead in Vannie

Police are still trying to figure out what happened to a Yonkers man who was found dead in Van Cortlandt Park Tuesday afternoon. The man, identified as Richard Lam, 54, of 165 Bruce St., was found lying on the ground in the park unconscious around 2 p.m., police said.

Issues Force Newly Renovated Sprain Ridge Pool To Close For Entire Summer

Despite reopening with "great fanfare and optimism" last year, the recently renovated Sprain Ridge Poll will be closed for the entire summer season after it was deemed not to be structurally sound. Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced on Wednesday that in an attempt to reopen the pool in Yonkers before July 4 last year, contractors rushed work at the pool, which resulted in structural issues.

YONKERS, NY , Wednesday, June 13, 2018-Yonkers Raceway has announced its latest purse increase, effective with the race week beginning Monday, June 25th. The increases range from 5-to-10 percent, depending upon the purse of the race, with the lowest overnight purse moving from $9,000 to $10,000.
