With the holiday shopping season here, Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino and the Westchester County Department of Consumer Protection today reminded shoppers how to "shop smart" this holiday season by offering the best practices and tips for purchasing gifts. A Yonkers man is going to be spending more than a decade behind bars after being sentenced for violating an order of protection to stay away from his ex-girlfriend and an assault that left her guest with permanent mental and physical damage. On Thursday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that Blake Natal, 35, was sentenced to 12 years in state prison after pleading guilty to felony charges of burglary and assault after entering the apartment of his ex-girlfriend unlawfully and without her permission last year and attacking her visitor.

Yonkers Bus Company Owner Pleads Guilty to Participating in False Bus Route Scheme

Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced today that William Ahern of 28 High Street, Armonk, New York pled guilty as charged to all counts against him, namely: Over the period of nearly two years, between September 24, 2012 and April 11, 2014, Ahern, the owner of A Plus Transportation, located at 57 Alexander Street in Yonkers, while aiding and abetting and acting in concert, with co-defendant Anna Sollozzo, Transportation Supervisor for the City of Yonkers Board of Education, allegedly stole approximately $313,825 from the City of Yonkers for bus services that were never provided for the Nepperhan Community Center.
