Apple Bank Announces Promotion Of Scarsdale Branch Manager

Apple Bank for Savings has announced the appointment of Mayra Tepan as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at the Scarsdale, Westchester branch office located at 1075 Central Park Ave. Tepan joins Apple Bank from Peoples United Bank, where she most recently served as Branch Manager of their Yonkers office. James Matera, Executive Vice President and Head of Apple Bank's Consumer Banking Division, said, "We are very pleased that Mayra Tepan has joined the Apple Bank team in Westchester."

Latimer Transition Team Met Sunday To Discuss Westchester County Strategies

More than 75 community and government leaders from across Westchester met Sunday in Port Chester with County Executive-elect George Latimer to set the tone for his transition to office in January. Transition team co-chairs Ken Jenkins, a county legislator from Yonkers, and John Nonna, former Pleasantville mayor and county legislator, led "the process of restoring strong leadership and community-driven commitment to Westchester County government," according to Joseph Glazer, a spokesman for Latimer.

A New York State attorney has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of people who were potentially exposed to hepatitis A at the restaurant bartaco in Port Chester, N.Y. Paul V. Nunes, a senior partner of Underberg and Kessler in Rochester, N.Y., filed the complaint on behalf of Yonkers, N.Y. resident Crystal Lopez, a bartaco patron who dined at the restaurant on Oct. 12. Lopez was advised by health officials to get a blood test and hepatitis A vaccine or Immune Globulin for treatment, like others who ate or drank at the popular spot between Oct. 12 and 23. "Everyone has a right to expect that the food they are served at a public restaurant is free on contaminants and is safe to eat," Nunes said this week.

Woman Sues Westchester Restaurant Over Hepatitis Exposure

A class action lawsuit has been filed against bartaco, the popular Port Chester restaurant that had to be temporarily closed down last week because of a potential Hepatitis A exposure that may have left customers vulnerable to the disease. A lawsuit was filed by a Rochester-based law firm on behalf of Yonkers resident Crystal Lopez and the thousands of people who were required to obtain a blood test and receive a vaccination for Hepatitis recently following the outbreak.
