A Yonkers man is facing drug charges after he was pulled over for speeding on the Sprain Brook Parkway Wednesday, state police said. Bestar Mujaj, 29, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.
More than two dozen suspects were targeted for heroin and opiate-related offenses following the department's Heroin Enforcement and Assistance Response Team's first major bust. Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardner announced Thursday that 16 of the 29 suspects have been arrested after a sweep of the southwest part of the city targeting street level drug dealers.
