Westchester Man, 27, Busted With Loaded .38, 74 Grams Of Pot In I-287 Stop

A routine traffic stop on I-287 in White Plains led to drug and gun charges for a pair over the weekend. State Police troopers stopped a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Bloomfield, Conn., resident Christopher Brodie on I-287 for a moving violation shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22. During the subsequent stop, police said that it was determined that Brodie and 27-year-old Yonkers resident Kristopher Duquense were in possession of a loaded Smith and Wesson .38-caliber revolver and nearly 75 grams of marijuana and eight fluid ounces of codeine.

New York State Police conducting a special speed enforcement detail on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers on Wednesday issued nearly three dozen tickets and arrested a city resident on drug charges. Between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, state police conducted the special detail, which resulted in 24 tickets for speeding, five other vehicle and traffic citations, two seatbelt violations, and tickets for two drivers who failed to move over for an emergency vehicle and using a cell phone.

14 Charged After Years-Long Heroin, Crack Probe In Westchester, Bronx

Fourteen people who were part of a violent drug crew from Westchester and the Bronx are facing federal weapons, drug and robbery charges following an indictment on Tuesday by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York In the indictment, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said the 14 sold drugs and firearms for several years in the Bronx and Yonkers, and that four of those indicted took part in robberies in the Bronx and Manhattan. A North Rockland High School grad and Yonkers resident who served as a New York City Fire Department battalion chief was killed Tuesday when a home in the Bronx with a marijuana-growing operation exploded, according to the FDNY. Michael Fahy, 44, was killed when firefighters responded to the home at 300 W. 234th St. after someone reported a gas leak, said the New York Post.
