Former Brookfield graduate victim in New York murder

A Yonkers man was indicted on murder charges this week for purportedly stabbing his wife - a former Brookfield High School graduate - to death during an argument in the spring. Joseph Abraham, 54, was indicted on several charges including murder and two counts of weapon possession in connection to the death of his wife Amanda Trenck, 25, who was found by dead by police in May in the apartment the couple shared in Yonkers, N.Y. Authorities said the woman was found slumped over the bed and that there was a large amount of blood around her body.

Yonkers Bus Company Owner Pleads Guilty to Participating in False Bus Route Scheme

Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced today that William Ahern of 28 High Street, Armonk, New York pled guilty as charged to all counts against him, namely: Over the period of nearly two years, between September 24, 2012 and April 11, 2014, Ahern, the owner of A Plus Transportation, located at 57 Alexander Street in Yonkers, while aiding and abetting and acting in concert, with co-defendant Anna Sollozzo, Transportation Supervisor for the City of Yonkers Board of Education, allegedly stole approximately $313,825 from the City of Yonkers for bus services that were never provided for the Nepperhan Community Center.

William Ahern, an Armonk resident and owner of A Plus Transportation, has pleaded guilty to scamming Yonkers out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by billing the city for non-existent bus services. Yonkers resident Anna Sollozzo, a former transportation supervisor for the city's Board of Education, is in prison after pleading guilty to grand larceny and tax fraud in a bus services scam.

Westchester Bus Company Owner Charged With Stealing Thousands

A 60-year-old Armonk resident was arraigned Monday on two felonies for allegedly stealing more than $280,000 from the City of Yonkers for bus services to the Nepperan Community Center that were never provided for almost two years. William Ahearn, owner of Yonkers-based A Plus Transportation, was charged with grand larcency and rewarding official misconduct, a Class E felony Ahearn and Anna Sollozzo, transportation supervisor for the Yonkers Board of Education, created a phantom bus route by invoicing the Board of Education for bus pickups at the Nepperhan Community Center, when in fact no buses were ever dispatched, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office.

Former Yonkers Civil Servant Sentenced To Prison Term For Defrauding City

Former Yonkers Board of Education transportation supervisor Anna Sollozzo has been sentenced to prison time for her role in a scheme that defrauded the city of nearly $300,000. On Wednesday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that Anna Sollozzo, 54, will spend between two and six years behind bars after pleading guilty to felony charges of grand larceny and criminal tax fraud.
