DEMOCRATIC RUMORS: George Latimer To Named As Tish James Running Mate Before Christmas

Currently Gov. Kathy Hochul leads state Attorney General Letitia James by 14 percentage points in a hypothetical Democratic gubernatorial primary, according to a poll released Monday. The governor came in with 36% and James comes in second with 22 percent while Hochul’s predecessor, disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, is in third with 15 percent, according to the Data for Progress survey. Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, who announced his bid last week, comes in fourth with 7 percent support and Long Island Congressman Thomas Suozzi ranks fifth with 6 percent.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY POLITICS: Keep an eye out for an announcement that County Executive George Latimer will be named a candidate for Lt. Governor as New York Attorney General and Gubernatorial candidate Letitia James’ running mate.

NOT IMMEDIATELY SUPPORTING KATHY: Did you notice that Yonkers’ State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Yonkers State Senator Shelley Mayer and Westchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah have not endorsed Governor Kathy Hochul.

But Mayor Mike Spano and Yonkers Assemblyman Nader Sayegh have endorsed Gov. Kathy Hochul.

However former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, and Nita Lowey have not jumped in line behind the governor.
