Stevie Danielle Leatha Bates’ mother wants answers after her remains were found nine years later at a Queens construction site

YONKERS: Vivian Bates-Jones’ missing teenage daughter, Stevie Bates, disappeared in April of 2012

Back then, Surveillance video from inside the Port Authority Bus Terminal showed the 19-year-old arriving home in New York after a cross-country trip

She had reportedly told her mom that she was going to meet her boyfriend at the property he’d been squatting at.

Now nine years later, the NYPD was investigating the discovery of human remains at a construction site on Cypress Avenue in Queens.

DNA confirmed the bones, belonged to the missing teenage girl, Stevie Bate

A funeral was recently held to give the remains a proper burial.
