Frank was born in Yonkers, NY on July 24, 1924 to Pasquale and Assunta Cagginese Bruno.
Frank was a lifelong Yonkers resident.
Frank served in the Yonkers Police Department and was also a member of the Local 46 Wire Lathers Union.
After retiring from the Police Depart. he owned and operated two taverns in Yonkers one at the Yonkers Motor Inn and then the Parkdale Lounge.
After those businesses he was employed by the Jacob Javits Convention Center in their security department.
He remained there until he was in his mid-seventies.
Frank was a member of the NYPD Emerald Society Band serving in their Color Guard.
Frank was a member of many clubs and associations in Yonkers.
Frank married his beloved wife Barbara (nee Leahy) on April 13, 1947, she died on April 13, 2011.
Frank is survived by his children, Catherine (Ronald) Caouette and Frank, Jr. (Barbara) Ret. Capt. YPD.
He was the proud grandfather of Jennifer Luce, Joseph Luce (US Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer), Lauren Mirizio, Lt. YPD (Vincent) and Janine (Stephen) Masopust.
He also had seven great grandchildren.
Frank is also survived by his sister Catherine Horan and pre deceased by his sisters Antoinette Bruno and Lorraine Drexler.
Frank had many friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Saturday August 29th from 2pm to 6pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Ann’s Church (Midland Avenue) on Monday August 31st at 10am.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery where only family will attend.
