240 MORE TICKETS: Brandon Jason Neider And Other Yonkers Residents Applauds The YPD For CrackIng Down On Speeding And Noise Complaints

Police in Yonkers continue to crack down on speeding and noise complaints in Westchester’s largest city. Officers say they issued 249 summonses during the Memorial Day weekend. Drivers were pulled over for speeding, excessive noise, unlicensed drivers and unregistered cars. Officials say several arrests were made, and vehicles were impounded. One person was even ticketed for going 73 mph in a 30 mph zone.

YONKERS: This past Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, the Yonkers Police Department partnered with local law enforcement agencies once again to address numerous community complaints of speeding, aggressive driving, and excessive noise from motor vehicles and motorcycles on local roads, parkways, and highways.

Yonkers Police working in collaboration with members of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and the New York State Police (Troop K and Troop T) issued a total of 249 summonses to violators for a multitude of offenses including speeding, loud exhaust, unlicensed operation and unregistered motor vehicles, failing to signal, lane violations, no insurance, and other equipment violations.

Several arrests were made and vehicles impounded; one violator was issued a speeding summons for traveling 73 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.

Police Commissioner John J. Mueller stated, “The safety of our roads and quiet enjoyment of our residential neighborhoods remain a priority for the Yonkers Police Department. These enforcement details will continue until our message is heard loud and clear: speeding, aggressive driving, and excessively loud cars and motorcycles will not be tolerated in our City. I thank the Westchester County and New York State Police for continuing to work together to address these issues.”
