Memorial Day honors the sacrifice made by generations of servicemen and women to protect us, our values, and our way of life. In the course of their duty, they laid down their lives for us. It falls to us to remember them, their stories and those they left behind. And, perhaps more importantly, to be citizens fully worthy of their sacrifice. 

Today on Memorial Day, we remember the sacrifices of our fallen soldiers and all that they gave to this country and its future. 

Although we may be celebrating this Memorial Day differently, it’s meaning is still very much the same. Take time out of your day today to reflect on the generations of Americans who gave their lives for our freedom.

To pay tribute on Memorial Day the City of Yonkers will be holding a Motorcade which will travel across the City of Yonkers. Please pay tribute by waving along the route.
