About 6,000 students have had their parents say, “no” to , Superintendent Dr. Edwin M. Quezada”s hybrid learning plan in the of the Yonkers Public School district

Students who chose the hybrid model will report to school Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday.

The three remaining days will be remote learning.

Yonkers Board of Education President Rev. Steve Lopez has been telling concerned parents that families decide they would like to switch to complete remote learning, for whatever reason, students can be pulled out.

Currently, Superintendent Dr. Edwin M. Quezada is hiring additional bus monitors  to ensure children are social distancing and prevent a Covid-19 outbreak.

Many other measures are being put in place in the Yonkers Public Schools to protect, students, teachers and staff members during the challenging times, but many parents worry that the precautions are not enough to protect their children.

But when school starts in September 1 out of 5 children will not be there.
