MGM Yonkers, doing business as Empire City Casino, is going to lay off 890 people due to the closing of the casino during New York Pause.

The employees are represented by a number of unions including Operating Engineers, Teamsters, Council of Carpenters, Plumbers and Steamfitters, Communications of America, and Operating Engineers.
