A 20-year-old Yonkers woman who had been missing nearly two weeks has been found safe in Miami, Fla., Yonkers Police said Sunday night.
On Saturday, the Yonkers Police Department, working with the family of Gabriella Camacho, developed information that she was possibly in the Miami.
Late Saturday night, the Yonkers PD was contacted by the Miami Police Department to confirm that Camacho had been located within their jurisdiction.
Members of the Yonkers Police Department worked with the Miami Police Department to positively confirm her identity.
She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and family members are currently in Florida with her, Yonkers Police said.
She was reported to be in an apparent healthy condition.
The circumstances of her travel to Florida are currently under investigation by members of the Yonkers Police Department Detective Division and the Miami Police Department.
Camacho had last seen been seen on Monday, Oct. 17.
A surveillance picture from the Yonkers home of the Camacho family showed 20-year-old Gabriella Camacho, a Borough of Manhattan Community College student, leaving the house on October 17th.
Her father says he quickly found out she had other plans for her day.
He got an email indicating she was flying to Tokyo..
At first he thought it could be credit card fraud, but quickly learned it was booked by his daughter Gabriella.
He immediately left work went to JFK to stop the ticket and came to the conclusion that his daughter did not board the flight,
Ms. Camacho has had three surgeries throughout her life to remove a brain tumor. The last one was in August of 2015.
